Biography

Born in Siracusa, Sicily, in 1974, Marco Condrò moved to Rome as a child, where his passion for drawing and painting began to flourish since the age of six. Inspired early on by the Renaissance masters, he trained by reproducing classical works before expanding his artistic language through modern figurative and informal styles, always guided by a deep sensitivity to color.
He studied at Rome’s Liceo Artistico and graduated with honors in painting from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma in 1998. During these formative years, he exhibited in several group shows across Italy, including Rome, Pescara, Assisi, and Colonnella. A pivotal influence was his painting professor Antonio D’Acchille, exponent of the “New Italian Manner”, in whose studio Condrò contributed to the creation of a large altarpiece later installed in the Church of the Visitation in Ein Karem, Jerusalem.
Open to constant experimentation, he has explored a wide range of techniques—from tempera and oil to watercolor, charcoal, and digital media—developing a personal approach rooted in hyperrealism and photorealism.
His work is part of public and private collections in Italy and abroad. In 2016, one of his pieces entered the permanent collection of the MacS Museum (Museum of Contemporary Art in Sicily). He has been a six-time finalist (2018–2023) in the prestigious ModPortrait International Portrait Competition, with exhibitions in Zaragoza and at the MEAM Museum in Barcelona.
Among his recent exhibitions are The Great Masters of International Realism in the 20×20 Format at Palazzo Einaudi in Chivasso, Italy (2020–2021), and a group show held in Chelsea, New York, in 2023.
In 2022, he was one of the winners of the Art International Awards – 2nd Velázquez Painting and Sculpture Competition, organized by Sheng Xinyu Art (China). In 2024, he was among the laureates of the Titian International Portrait Painting & Sculpture Competition.

He currently lives and works in Rome.

Nato a Siracusa, in Sicilia, nel 1974, Marco Condrò si è trasferito da bambino a Roma, dove la sua passione per il disegno e la pittura ha iniziato a fiorire sin dall’età di sei anni. Ispirato fin da giovane dai maestri del Rinascimento, si è formato riproducendo opere classiche, per poi ampliare il proprio linguaggio artistico attraverso stili figurativi e informali moderni, sempre guidato da una profonda sensibilità per il colore.
Ha studiato al Liceo Artistico di Roma e si è diplomato con lode in Pittura presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma nel 1998. Durante questi anni di formazione, ha esposto in diverse mostre collettive in varie città italiane, tra cui Roma, Pescara, Assisi e Colonnella. Un’influenza fondamentale è stata il suo docente di pittura Antonio D’Acchille, esponente della “Nuova Maniera Italiana”, nel cui studio Condrò ha contribuito alla realizzazione di una grande pala d’altare successivamente collocata nella Chiesa della Visitazione a Ein Karem, Gerusalemme.
Aperto alla costante sperimentazione, ha esplorato una vasta gamma di tecniche – dalla tempera e olio all’acquerello, al carboncino e ai media digitali – sviluppando un approccio personale radicato nell’iperrealismo e nel fotorealismo.
Le sue opere fanno parte di collezioni pubbliche e private in Italia e all’estero. Nel 2016, una sua opera è entrata a far parte della collezione permanente del MacS (Museo di Arte Contemporanea della Sicilia). È stato per sei volte finalista (2018–2023) del prestigioso Concorso Internazionale di Ritratto ModPortrait, con esposizioni a Saragozza e presso il MEAM (Museo Europeo di Arte Moderna) di Barcellona.
Tra le sue mostre recenti si annoverano The Great Masters of International Realism in the 20×20 Format a Palazzo Einaudi di Chivasso (2020–2021) e una collettiva a Chelsea, New York, nel 2023.
