Exhibition of the winning works of ModPortrait, the international modern portrait competition organized by Artelibre Gallery in collaboration with MEAM.
Painter Wim Heldens (Netherlands, 1954) won first prize with the work “Jajja” (Grandmother), an oil on canvas measuring 45 x 45 cm.
With the support of the Foundation for Arts and Artists and the MEAM in Barcelona (MEAM), the Zaragoza-based virtual gallery Artelibre has brought together around this competition a group of international artists specialized in portraiture, with the aim of highlighting figuration and academicism—the result of great ideas and conscientious, elaborate work—giving particular importance to realistic and hyperrealistic art.
